The consumer protection attorneys at Gibbs Law Group are currently investigating reports that Arbet Consulting, Inc., wrongly scored a number of American Board of Dermatology exams. As a result, several candidates who passed the exam were told that they had failed.
American Board of Dermatology Reports Exam Errors in Scoring of 2017 and 2018 Certification Exams
On September 24, 2018, the American Board of Dermatology announced that it had been informed by Arbet Consulting, Inc., the company that performs its exam psychometrics, that an error had affected the scoring of the 2018 certification examination. As a result of the reported error, eight candidates had actually passed the exam but were told they had failed. Upon a further review, it was determined that the same error had impacted the 2017 certification exam, such that an additional five candidates had passed the 2017 exam, but were told they had failed.
