The investigation concerns alleged unfair deceptive acts or practices by American Military University relating to the recruitment and retention of students and the financing of education. American Military University is owned and operated by American Public Education.

Following this news, American Public Education’s share price fell $2.70, or 12.47%, to close at $18.95 on August 9, 2017.
