Our attorneys are investigating allegations that Dish Satellite TV subscribers who paid for access to HBO or Cinemax lost access to those channels starting in November 2018. There is a possibility of a Dish HBO/Cinemax class action lawsuit to recover funds for people who expected more from their Dish Satellite subscription.
Dish Subscribers Lose Access to HBO and Cinemax
USA Today reports that if you’re a Dish satellite subscriber or use Dish’s streaming service, Sling TV, you will lose those two premium channels starting in early November, 2018. Those looking to re-watch Game of Thrones or Veep will have to look elsewhere, according to USA Today. The premium channels are being removed from the Dish network because HBO and Cinemax failed to reach a deal with Dish Network LLC that includes the rates that Dish will pay for access to HBO and Cinemax.
Subscribers who are now locked in to the Dish Network may have to find other ways to access HBO, such as through the HBO Now application. But they may have to pay a separate subscription fee to HBO.
