On October 6, Gibbs Mura welcomed law students and plaintiff-side attorneys from prominent local firms to its Oakland office for the 2026 Plaintiffs’ Law Student-Practitioner Mixer, hosted in partnership with the Berkeley Plaintiffs’ Law Association (PLA).
The Berkeley Plaintiffs’ Law Association (PLA) is a student organization dedicated to cultivating future plaintiff-side attorneys. It is an official chapter of the American Association for Justice and a member of the National Plaintiffs’ Law Association.
The mixer is designed to introduce law students to plaintiff-side lawyers from a range of practice areas and firms of different sizes, helping them understand the many paths available in a plaintiff-side career. The event has drawn strong interest in past years, with close to 100 students attending.
Gibbs Mura’s Commitment to Expanding Opportunities for Law Students
The mixer is part of Gibbs Mura’s broader commitment to expanding access to the plaintiffs’ bar. In 2025, Gibbs Mura founding partner Eric Gibbs and Singleton Schreiber managing partner Danielle Ward Mason co-founded the Mason Gibbs Plaintiffs’ Pathway Fellowship to broaden the pathway to the plaintiffs’ bar. The Fellowship seeks talented students interested in becoming litigators for marginalized communities and vulnerable people in high-impact matters.
