Gibbs Law Group Attorneys to Present on Developments in the Law of Consumer Class Actions

On May 5, 2016, Gibbs Law Group attorneys Eric Gibbs, Daniel Girard, David Stein and Amy Zeman will present at “Consumer Class Actions: Emerging Areas of Litigation, Practical Insights & Recent Developments,” hosted by HB Litigation Conferences. Eric Gibbs is one of four distinguished class action attorneys selected to serve as co-chairs of the conference, which will provide practical insights and important litigation developments and strategic considerations for the plaintiff-side practitioner.
The comprehensive program agenda includes the following discussions:
- Eric Gibbs will moderate and Amy Zeman will present on “cross-pollination,” which will direct practitioners on expanding their focus for case opportunities and identifying the best types of claims for clients.
- Daniel Girard will discuss developments in discovery rules, and heightened judicial scrutiny for class action settlements.
- David Stein will address trends in motions to dismiss in consumer class action cases.

Daniel C. Girard has over 25 years of experience in class action litigation and is recognized by his peers and the federal judiciary as an expert in complex litigation. Over the past few years, Mr. Girard’s firm has served as lead counsel or as a member of the leadership team in a number of important privacy cases, including several of the most prominent data breach actions, including In re Anthem, Inc. Data Breach Litig., In re: Adobe Systems, Inc. Privacy Litigation, and data breach cases against Home Depot, Experian, and Premera Blue Cross.
About David Stein
David Stein focuses his practice on consumer protection and financial fraud cases. He helped generate a $25 million settlement in an automobile defect lawsuit involving Honda and Acura vehicles, and cash reimbursements for purchasers of Prius vehicles in a lawsuit against Toyota. Currently, Mr. Stein serves as court-appointed co-lead counsel in the In re Honda CR-V Vibration multidistrict proceedings and in the In re: Hyundai Sonata Engine Litigation, pending in the Northern District of California.
