On September 25, 2026, Gibbs Mura attorney Jennifer Sun will join a panel at the 25th Anniversary Celebration of the Samuelson Law, Technology & Public Policy Clinic (SLTPPC) at UC Berkeley School of Law. The event will bring together leaders in technology law and advocates, alumni, and supporters to reflect on the clinic’s work and explore emerging issues in technology, law, and public policy.

Marking 25 years at the digital frontier, the anniversary program will feature discussions on copyright, privacy, transparency, innovation, accountability, and the future of the field.
Sun will speak on Panel 3, “Unmasking the State: Transparency, Free Speech, and Accountability.” Her participation reflects the firm’s continued engagement with legal and policy questions surrounding technology, civil liberties, and institutional accountability. Sun will be joined by Megan Graham of the University of Iowa College of Law, Michael Lissner of the Free Law Project, and Aaron Mackey of the Electronic Frontier Foundation. Juliana DeVries of UC Berkeley School of Law will moderate the discussion.
About Jennifer Sun
Jennifer represents plaintiffs in class actions and complex litigation against some of the world’s largest technology companies, with a focus on consumer protection, data security, and privacy. She is currently suing Change Healthcare over the largest healthcare ransomware attack in U.S. history, and Motorola Solutions and Vigilant Solutions for funneling automated license plate reader (ALPR) surveillance data to out-of-state and federal agencies in violation of California law. Recently, she helped secure a $100 million settlement with Equifax over its alleged miscalculation of credit scores for more than four million people and helped achieve a $45 million settlement for consumers whose sensitive personal information was exposed in a series of data breaches at a major entertainment and hospitality company.
A graduate of the University of California, Berkeley, School of Law, Jennifer earned a certificate in Law & Technology. While in law school, she externed for the Electronic Frontier Foundation, the Knight First Amendment Institute at Columbia University and served on the boards of both the Asian American Law Journal and the Asian Pacific American Law Students Association. At SLTPPC, she represented the Reporters Committee for Freedom of the Press in advocating for the public’s right of access to electronic-surveillance warrant records.
