Gibbs Mura partner Michael Weinkowitz spoke at the Fall 2026 Mass Torts Made Perfect (MTMP) seminar in Las Vegas on October 14, joining Emmie Paulos of Levin Papantonio and Joseph VanZandt of Beasley Allen for the “Social Media Addiction Litigation Update” in the Mass Tort Projects track.
The session was hosted at the Bellagio Hotel and covered the latest developments in the litigation against the companies behind TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, Snapchat, and YouTube. The cases allege the platforms were intentionally designed to be addictive, resulting in harm to children and adolescents.
Michael holds three court-appointed leadership positions in In re: Social Media Adolescent Addiction/Personal Injury Products Liability Litigation (MDL No. 3047, N.D. Cal.), serving as Co-Chair of the School District Committee, Co-Chair of the TikTok Liability Team, and a member of the Plaintiffs’ Leadership Committee. He also served as lead trial counsel for Breathitt County Schools, the first school district bellwether case, which settled shortly before trial.
Mass Torts Made Perfect is the largest plaintiffs’ mass tort conference in the country, held twice a year in Las Vegas.
