Gibbs Mura Partner Michael Weinkowitz will speak at the 2026 Coalition of Civil Advocates Conference in New Orleans on November 19, joining Jacksy Bilsborrow of Weitz & Luxenberg for a panel titled “Addicted by Design: Inside the Landmark Litigation Holding Big Tech Accountable for the Youth Mental Health Crisis.”
The session runs from 10:05 to 10:55 a.m. at The Ritz-Carlton New Orleans and will examine the multidistrict litigation alleging that social media platforms engineered their products to maximize adolescent engagement at the expense of young users’ mental health. Weinkowitz and Bilsborrow will discuss how the cases were built, where the litigation stands, and what the claims mean for the school districts and families carrying the consequences.
About Michael Weinkowitz
Michael Weinkowitz holds three court-appointed leadership positions in In re: Social Media Adolescent Addiction/Personal Injury Products Liability Litigation: Co-Chair of the School District Committee, Co-Chair of the TikTok Liability Team, and member of the Plaintiff Leadership Committee. He served as lead trial counsel in the Breathitt County Schools bellwether case, which resolved shortly before trial.
