Eaton Fire survivors weighing Edison’s compensation offer against filing a lawsuit against Edison can get answers live on Wednesday, Oct. 28, from 7 to 9 p.m. Pacific. The free Zoom session is a special edition of the Beat the Clock series, added by popular demand.
Amanda Riddle of Corey Gibbs Fire Lawyers, our co-counsel and one of three court-appointed liaison counsel in the Eaton Fire lawsuits, will be one of two presenters.

What to know about Edison’s Wildfire Recovery Program
Edison wants you to trust them to handle your recovery. The same company you trusted to maintain its equipment and provide safe and dependable service. The same company that caused the Eaton fire. That same company is now promoting its Wildfire Recovery Compensation Program (WRCP) with mailers, billboards, social media ads and information sessions. Now, Edison is putting pressure on survivors to sign up.
Accepting an offer through the WRCP could mean giving up rights you would keep in a lawsuit. Don’t take Edison’s word for it. Take this opportunity to talk with a lawyer before you sign anything.
What you’ll learn
The presenters are coordinating with hundreds of lawyers who represent individual Eaton Fire plaintiffs. They’ll share updates from a court hearing held earlier that day, just hours before the session, and cover:
• How much compensation you could receive through the WRCP versus a lawsuit
• Which rights you could give up, which deadlines apply, and when your decision becomes final
• How soon you could be paid, and what legal fees you could pay
• What happens if you disagree with Edison’s offer
• How the bellwether test cases could affect settlements and payment timelines
Bring your questions. The presenters will answer them live.
