Posted September 2024

Are you intrigued by process design? Want to develop data engineering skills working with intricate legal data? Ready to solve complex problems in one of the most competitive fields, while helping ordinary people take on massive corporations? Then you may be the perfect candidate for a position at Gibbs Law Group LLP, one of the “Titans of the Plaintiffs Bar.”

Our firm represents regular people in high-stakes, high-profile mass action and class action litigation. We bring cases against the world’s largest corporations—such as banks, utilities, and car companies.

We offer a fast-paced and team-oriented atmosphere, where you will have an opportunity to meaningfully leverage and grow your data skills in a legal context, apply your analytical and adaptable skillset to solve problems, and leverage technology to make justice more accessible to everyday people.

You will set up automations and surveys to help gather and manage massive amounts of client data, maintain a sophisticated client and litigation database, design processes and data structures to help litigate cases efficiently, and collaborate with other technologists and attorneys on interesting technology and design projects.

We are looking for individuals who enjoy being challenged and who take pride in their work. An intense interest in problem solving, strong attention to detail, and solid communication skills are a must. Prior data engineering experience is helpful but not mandatory — if you are a dedicated learner with no prior experience, this may be the perfect job for you. The learning cycle is quick, and you will have excellent mentors. At our firm, effort can quickly outpace experience.

You’ll Need to Have:

  • A commitment to the work we do
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Strong attention to detail and deep analytical thinking
  • A genuine interest in blazing a new path at the intersection of law and technology

You Will Learn (prior experience is a plus):

  • Technical Communication Skills: distilling complex technical data and concepts in a way that can be understood by attorneys, litigation assistants, and other stakeholders
  • Data Manipulation: joining, cleaning, and analyzing data sets from internal and external systems using Excel and Python
  • Database Management: managing and extending a database in Salesforce, using Salesforce tools to make data more accessible to team members, working with Salesforce programming languages
  • Project Management: experience working with others on long-term projects with many moving pieces

This position is full time. The salary range is $23-26 per hour based on experience, plus benefits and discretionary bonus. GLG offers an excellent benefits package, including generous vacation and leave policies, fully employer‐paid employee health benefits and an employer-contributed 401(k) plan.

We are an Equal Opportunity Employer. Ensuring a diverse and inclusive workplace where we learn from each other is core to our firm’s values. We welcome people of different backgrounds, experiences, abilities, and perspectives. And we’re committed to anti-racism.

GLG staff currently work primarily remotely; however, staff should be prepared and available to provide in-person services as needed.

For consideration, please email a resume and cover letter. We will not consider you without a cover letter.
