Gibbs Law Group Partners Lead Programs and Events at 2016 AAJ Convention

A.J. de Bartolomeo, Amy Zeman, and other members of the Gibbs Law Group team will travel to Boca Raton this week to participate in the 2016 Winter Convention of the American Association for Justice. The five-day convention offers attorneys, trial lawyers, and experts opportunities to build powerful connections and learn about developments in their practice areas through eleven Continuing Legal Education programs and more than 200 events.

Ms. de Bartolomeo and Ms. Zeman will kick off the convention on Friday, February 26 with the 2016 Women’s Trial Lawyers Caucus Leadership Summit, an all-day workshop of interactive presentations designed and moderated by Ms. de Bartolomeo. Panel speakers at the summit will explore topics ranging from negotiation, case selection, and leadership applications, to social media and marketing.

Gibbs Law Group partner Amy Zeman will begin the day’s presentations with her discussion with co-panelists of “Best Practices in Law Firm Management.” Ms. Zeman will speak about the role administrative processes play in law firm success and ways to improve office efficiency at all levels, from office receptionist through managing partner.

Gibbs Law Group Sponsors Women’s Trial Lawyers Caucus Brunch

On Sunday, February 28, Ms. de Bartolomeo and Gibbs Law Group LLP will proudly sponsor the Women’s Trial Lawyers Caucus signature brunch, with a keynote address by Florida Supreme Court Justice Peggy A. Quince, the first African American woman to be appointed to a district court of appeals. The brunch marks the first time the Caucus will host a state Supreme Court Justice as a keynote speaker, a boon owed to the hard work and persistence of Ms. de Bartolomeo.

At the brunch, the WTLC leadership will also present a scholarship to a female law student, and a professional award to an outstanding female attorney.

About Amy Zeman

Amy Zeman is a partner at Gibbs Law Group LLP and Of Counsel to Gibbs Law Group LLP and represents clients in a wide variety of medical mass tort matters, including TVM, GranuFlo, YAZ, Actos, Risperdal, and Mirena, among others.

Ms. Zeman also represents consumers in class action litigation, and has experience working closely with class representatives and consumer contacts and participating in all stages of litigation. Ms. Zeman has been involved in successful actions against such entities as Chase Bank, Ducati, Chrysler, Intel, and Dish Network.

Previously, Ms. Zeman has been invited to speak at conferences sponsored by HB Litigation, discussing her work on the In re: Syngenta AG MIR 162 Corn Litigation, concerning the effects of Syngenta’s release of GMO corn seed on U.S. corn export prices, and her work on In re: Fresenius GranuFlo/NaturaLyte Dialysate Products Liability Litigation, concerning cardiac events suffered by dialysis patients. Ms. Zeman has also presented at a prior AAJ convention about In re: Lumber Liquidators Chinese-Manufactured Flooring Products Marketing, concerning allegedly toxic laminate wood flooring.
