
Gibbs Mura welcomes our Summer Associates and Mason Gibbs Fellows for Summer 2026

Gibbs Mura is thrilled to welcome this slate of talented, change-making law students to our offices for the summer of 2026! These Mason Gibbs Plaintiffs’ Pathways Fellows and Summer Associates will work with our attorneys to gain hands-on experience in a wide variety of plaintiff-side litigation.

Kate Berreth, Mason Gibbs Plaintiffs’ Pathway Fellow
Kate is a rising 2L at Stanford Law School, where she serves as a member editor of the Stanford Law Review, a Civil Justice Student Fellow at the Rhode Center on the Legal Profession, and a board member of the Plaintiffs’ Law Association. Kate grew up in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, and received her B.A. in Political Science and Criminology from the University of Pennsylvania. While there, she conducted research on policing reform, interned with the City of Philadelphia on a criminal record clearing initiative, and worked at a plaintiffs’-side law firm on a mass tort case against a gun manufacturer.

Jenny Chen, Mason Gibbs Plaintiffs’ Pathway Fellow
Jenny is a rising 2L at Lewis & Clark Law School in Portland, OR where she is Research Assistant to Professor Robert Klonoff. She is from China and Boston. As a former political organizer, she worked on Elizabeth Warren’s 2020 presidential campaign and won Ed Markey his reelection to the U.S. Senate. She returned to Senator Markey’s office twice, including as an Energy & Environmental Policy Intern on Capitol Hill. In college, Jenny founded the Providence College Mock Trial team and served as its president for four years. She graduated in 2023 as a Political Science and Women’s & Gender Studies double major before spending two gap years teaching English in Spain. She knows five languages.

Jan Rotich, Summer Associate
Jan is a rising 3L at Penn Carey Law from Dallas, TX. She is Co-President of the National Plaintiffs’ Law Association (NPLA) and a President-Emeritus of the Penn Plaintiffs’ Law Association (PPLA). Jan split her 1L summer between Hausfeld and Burns Charest, where she worked on antitrust and mass torts litigation. During her 2L year, she worked at Reid Collins & Tsai as a law clerk. Prior to law school, Jan earned her Master’s of Public Administration and undergraduate degrees in Political Science and Africana Studies from the University of Cincinnati.

Deirdre Shepard, Summer Associate
Deirdre is a rising 3L at Berkeley Law, where she is an Associate Editor for the California Law Review and Student Fellow at the Center for Consumer Law & Economic Justice. She also served as Co-Chair of the Consumer Advocacy and Protection Society and Co-Leader of the Consumer Protection Public Policy Order pro bono project, and she volunteered for the Legal Aid Association of California. She spent her 1L summer at the California Department of Justice and interned at the Public Interest Law Project during her 2L spring. Deirdre grew up in the Bay Area and received her B.A. from the College of the Holy Cross. Before law school, she was a Legal Advocate at Greater Boston Legal Services.
