Andre M. Mura to Present at Class Action Litigation Conference 2016

On Friday, April 15, 2016, Gibbs Law Group Partner Andre Mura will present at the “Class Action Litigation Conference 2016,” hosted by Bridgeport Continuing Legal Education. The conference, taking place in Los Angeles, will address recent developments in the class action landscape, both in terms of emerging law and procedure. Andre will be co-presenting with Mark Miller of Barnes & Thornburg LLP on the current state of the law on ascertainability. Specifically, their session will address recent decisions from the Third, Seventh, and Eleventh Circuits, as well as pending litigation in the Ninth Circuit, addressing the appropriate test for ascertainability at the certification stage. This will include a discussion of Mullins v. Direct Digital and Carrera v. Bayer.

Andre M. Mura is a partner at Gibbs Law Group and Of Counsel to Gibbs Law Group LLP. He represents plaintiffs in class action and complex litigation involving consumers’ rights, product liability, defective drugs and medical devices, federal jurisdiction and constitutional law. He currently represents plaintiffs in class action and multi-district litigation, including in Eager v. General Nutrition Corp. and In re Lenovo Adware Litigation.
Andre is frequently called upon to discuss emerging issues in class actions, and regularly contributes his insights and commentary to the Consumer Law Watch, a blog analyzing developments in the law of class actions. He is a member of the American Bar Association (ABA) Tort Trial and Insurance Practice Section (TIPS) Plaintiffs Policy Task Force. He is also a member of the Lawyers Committee of the National Center for State Courts, as well as a member of the American Association for Justice and Public Justice’s Class Action Preservation Project.
