Law Firm Controller (hybrid remote)

You’ll Need to Have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a financial management role, with law firm experience preferred.
- Strong understanding of legal billing, trust accounting, and law firm financial operations.
- High level of integrity and professionalism, with a strong attention to detail.
- Experience supervising and managing an accounting team.
- Proficiency in accounting software and financial management systems; experience with Quickbooks Online.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Salary and Benefits
Competitive salary based on experience ($150k to $190k base) plus benefits and discretionary bonus. GLG offers an excellent benefits package, including generous vacation and leave policies, fully employer‐paid employee health benefits and an employer-contributed 401(k) plan.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee all financial activities and reporting for the firm, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
- Oversee day to day transactional accounting including AP, AR, Month-End, Financial Reporting, Reconciliations and payments.
- Oversees and executes financial systems: billing, trust account management, bookkeeping, expense management, audits, and taxes.
- Coordinate and oversee the firm’s payroll processes, including compliance with tax regulations and benefit administration.
- Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and controls to maintain financial integrity.
- Collects records of expenses of costs advanced to clients and updates the case management system and accounting system accordingly.
- Manage banking relationships and cash flow to ensure financial stability.
- Daily monitoring of Bank Account balance, Credit Card Accounts, Deposit accounts, and Trusts accounts.
- Manage annual application and renewals of insurance policies.
- Work in coordination with firm CPA for finalizing all quarterly and year end reports for tax preparation.
- Manage vendor relationships and renewals of office equipment contracts.
