2018 VW Atlas Driver Complaints about Automatic Braking System
Medium reports that “[t]he 2018 Volkswagen Atlas has over a dozen complaints tied to its AEB [automatic emergency braking] system.” The reporting says that VW Atlas drivers have submitted complaints about “sudden and unexpected braking,” particularly when the Atlas driver is crossing several lanes of traffic or is traveling down a decline that levels off.
As Medium reports:
None of the consumers who filed a complaint found a fix after visiting their dealers, but several note in their complaints that Volkswagen is aware of how the AEB system performs on the Atlas model and considers it to be operating normally. The NHTSA database provided no recall or manufacturer communications to date linked to this issue.
