A.J. de Bartolomeo Elected Chair of the Women Trial Lawyer’s Caucus

On July 12, 2015, Gibbs Law Group LLP partner A.J. de Bartolomeo became the Chair of the Women Trial Lawyer’s Caucus of the American Association for Justice. As Chair, Ms. de Bartolomeo will be responsible for, oversee and monitor several committees whose goals include leadership training; law student scholarship; state association coordination; membership and political outreach; publications; support of pro-civil justice candidates for local, state and national offices; and social networking.

Standing at over 3,500 members, the WTLC works to promote a fair and effective justice system, as well as to provide women lawyers a vehicle through which to network and form professional relationships and to develop female leadership, to provide positive role models as women trial lawyers, to provide mentorship to newly-licensed women who choose a career in trial law, and to uphold the honor and dignity of the legal profession.

The WTLC also nominates exceptional women law students for the Mike Eidson Scholarship and outstanding women trial lawyers for the Marie Lambert Award, which are both presented at the WTLC signature brunch event at the annual AAJ Convention in July. Gibbs Law Group LLP sponsored this year’s brunch.

De Bartolomeo’s History of Involvement with the WTLC

Ms. de Bartolomeo has served as an officer in the leadership of the WTLC since 2011. As a member of the WTLC Executive Committee, Ms. de Bartolomeo has chaired or co-chaired several of these committee and others relating to lobby efforts on Capitol Hill. Additionally, she and the Executive Committee have worked on community outreach programs providing books and educational materials to children in low-income public school districts, and supporting clothing drives, and training to assist single mothers and battered women return to the work place.

About A.J. de Bartolomeo

A.J. de Bartolomeo is a partner at Gibbs Law Group LLP and Of Counsel to Gibbs Law Group LLP and has more than twenty years of experience representing plaintiffs in cases involving personal injury, securities, antitrust, consumer protection, and copyright laws. She has served as court-appointed lead counsel and class counsel in class actions throughout the country, and currently sits on the Plaintiffs’ Steering Committee in the Yasmin & Yaz litigation, the Pradaxa blood thinning litigation, and the Actos diabetes drug litigation.
