Flagstar Bank Overdraft and NSF Fees
Flagstar Bank, based in Michigan, says that it charges the following fees if your account lacks sufficient funds:
- overdraft fee charge ($36)
- non-sufficient funds (NSF) fee charge ($36).
Flagstar’s disclosure guide for overdraft fees says that the bank will not charge an overdraft or NSF fee for small amounts. Specifically, Flagstar says that it does not charge overdraft fees if what you are trying to charge to your account is $5 or less, or if the transaction would only overdraft your account by $5 or less.
For example, if you have an account balance of $20 and purchase something with your debit card for $23, your account will only be overdrawn by $3, so you should not be assessed an overdraft fee.
