Comcast Data Breach Notification 2023

Comcast has acknowledged that hackers likely stole millions of customers’ personal information via a cybersecurity vulnerability called the “Citrix Bleed,” back in late October. In legal filings, Comcast has said that nearly 36 million people were affected by the breach.

Comcast has sent a data breach notification to Xfinity customers that their stolen information may include:

  • The last four digits of Social Security number
  • Password
  • Username
  • Date of birth
  • Account security questions and answers
  • Name
  • Contact information

Comcast Data Breach – What to Do

Hacker stealing customer data

On December 8, 2023, Comcast notified millions of its Xfinity customers that hackers had stolen a treasure trove of their personal information from Xfinity’s internal systems. The notice instructs all of Xfinity’s 32 million customers to change their username and password, change their login information for any other accounts that use the same username or password, and enroll in two-factor authentication. Comcast stated in a legal document filed with the state of Maine that 35.8 million people were affected by the breach, and news reports suggest that all Xfinity customers may be affected.

Class Action Lawsuit for the Comcast / Xfinity Data Breach

Gibbs Law Group is investigating a potential class action lawsuit on behalf of millions of Xfinity customers whose personal information was stolen in the recent data breach. We would seek compensation for the victims and demand that Comcast provide full support and protection services to those affected.
