About the Prosper Funding Data Breach Lawsuit:
Prosper Funding markets itself as a peer-to-peer lender that connects loan seekers and investors. It also offers credit cards and services existing loans made by other financial services companies. To use Prosper’s financial services or to invest in them, consumers were required to provide the company with their sensitive and non-public PII, according to the lawsuit. In many cases, Prosper obtained this information even without the consumers’ knowledge and held onto it even after the lender-customer relationship ended.
According to Prosper, it discovered unauthorized activity on its systems on September 1, 2025, and discovered evidence that between June and August 2025, data containing personal information was obtained through queries on company databases that store customer and applicant data.

Who Can Benefit from the Prosper Funding Data Breach Class Action?
Plaintiffs seek to represent a class of all individuals in the United States whose PII was compromised in the Data Breach. The Plaintiff and class members currently include current and former Prosper customers whose information was compromised in the 2025 Data Breach.
2026 Case Status:
In December 2025, all of the class action suits filed in the Northern District of California were consolidated into a single proceeding, In re: Prosper Funding, LLC Data Breach Litigation. On February 13, 2026, the Court appointed Gibbs Mura LLP Partner David Berger and James Pizzirusso of Hausfeld LLP as lead counsel for Plaintiffs. The Consolidated Amended Complaint is due on March 30, 2026.
