Monica graduated from the University of California Hastings, College of the Law in 2019, where she served on the Executive Board of La Raza Law Students Association, and as Senior Notes Editor for the Hastings Race and Poverty Law Journal. During law school she interned with Omada Health, clerked with AIDS Legal Referral Panel, and was a Research Assistant to Professor Jo Carrillo, JSD.  She received her undergraduate degree from Stanford University, majoring in Feminist Studies with a double minor in International Relations and Education.  Prior to law school Monica worked as paralegal in a plaintiffs’ complex litigation firm focusing on cases against Big Tobacco, medical device manufacturers, and auto manufacturers.
